> The Scalabrini Centre Drama Group and Rosa Postlethwaite

Since 2005, the non-government organisation Scalabrini Centre has offered development and welfare programmes to migrant and local communities of Cape Town. The Scalabrini Drama Group, part of the Centre’s English School, meets once a week in order to improve English communication skills and to provide opportunities for networking and experimentation with performance art. Past performances include Parlez-Vous Anglais? for World Refugee Day (2013).

 

The group facilitator, Rosa Postlethwaite is a UK born Live Artist and Theatre Maker, currently studying at the University of Cape Town for her Masters Degree in Theatre Making. In 2011, Postlethwaite co- founded the theatre company Dark Hills, with which she has performed in venues across London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2011, 2012). Her most recent performance work includes, The Frieze, at the University of Cape Town (2013) and The Vagina Monologues, at the African Dance Theatre (2013).
