White Paper Boats : Associated Event

Performed by:

Ernestine Deane, Brian de Goede, Gershon Naidoo and Kyoko Kimura

When and Where:

Wed 17 at 20h30,  Alliance Française, 155 Loop St

Duration:

60 Mins

Performed by vocal shaman, Ernestine Deane, this distinctive fusion of music and origami is a ritualistic reflection on the slave trade. Supported by stellar musicians, Brian de Goede (Moodphase5ive) and Gershon Naidoo (Nukphonik), Ernestine lets her soulful vocals fly over an acoustic landscape of guitar, drum and bow. Her songs take us on a journey through the issues of ancestry, dispossession, colonialism and, ultimately, unity and celebration. Kyoko Kimura of Origami for Africa will perform origami.

Tickets R50 at the door, or book before through 021 423 5699.
